There are unlimited excuses for getting to work in your woodshop. Any respecting carpenter knows there is a list of items that must be made - by you - in your shop - if you want to call it YOUR woodshop. For Example:

Storage Solutions

  • Tool Storage Rack: Build a wall-mounted rack to organize hand tools. Because tripping over them is not a valid workout plan!

  • Wooden Shelving Units: Create shelves for storing wood and supplies. Perfect for when you need a place to hide your shameful collection of half-finished projects!

  • Drawer Organizers: Design custom drawer inserts for small tools and accessories. Finally, a way to separate the screwdrivers from the random screws you’ve been hoarding since 1992!

Work Surfaces

  • Workbench: Construct a sturdy workbench with a flat surface for various projects. Ideal for pretending to be productive while actually just staring at your phone!

  • Outfeed Table: Build an outfeed table for your table saw to support large pieces of wood. Because letting them flop around like a fish out of water is just not classy!

  • Assembly Table: Create a dedicated space for assembling projects. Or, as I like to call it, the “Where Did I Leave My Coffee?” table!

Tool Holders

  • Magnetic Tool Holder: Install a magnetic strip for holding metal tools. Finally, a way to keep them from playing hide and seek with your sanity!

  • Drill Bit Holder: Make a holder for organizing drill bits by size. Because the last thing you need is a drill bit that’s gone rogue!

  • Clamp Rack: Build a rack specifically for storing clamps. Because if you don’t, they will form a union and demand better working conditions!

Project Aids

  • Sawhorses: Construct sturdy sawhorses for supporting materials during cuts. The unsung heroes of the woodshop, always standing there, never complaining!

  • Wood Cart: Create a mobile cart for transporting wood around the shop. Because lugging it like a caveman is so last century!

  • Jig for Repetitive Cuts: Design a jig to ensure consistent cuts for repetitive tasks. Because “close enough” just doesn’t cut it—pun intended!

Miscellaneous

  • Dust Collection System: Create a custom dust collection system to keep your workspace clean. Because dust bunnies are cute until they start asking for rent!

  • Lighting Fixtures: Build or install additional lighting to improve visibility. Don’t let your projects remain in the dark—unless they’re supposed to be spooky!

  • Safety Equipment Storage: Design a dedicated area for storing safety gear like goggles and ear protection. Because your eyes and ears deserve a nice home too!

These projects can help enhance the functionality and organization of your woodshop, while also providing plenty of opportunities for laughter (and maybe a few splinters)!
